Dark White
"I just want to paint white, dark white, and darker whites."
2012, Acrylic on canvas, 118 x 55cm
Dark White...
Is Dark because it's deceiving,
because it's concealing,
because it's revealing.
The more one conceals, the more one reveals,.
The more glaring the deceit, the darker the white.
Dark White...
Is White because it's shedding,
because it's opening,
because it's accepting.
Little by little, Black sheds away it's shades of grey
Opening up, freeing it's mind and body finally to become White
And once again, it's ready to accept.

Dark White
is a reflection of inviting and deceiving spaces with its conjoined relationship with black.
White and darker whites are painted and overlapped on layers of black beneath.
The empty white canvas is a pretext for going beyond the skin of things.
Both white and black, the absence and presence of all colours, co-exist and mirror each other.
